One sunny afternoon, a kind boy named Ali was walking home from school. As he turned into a quiet street, he saw something upsetting. A group of kids were teasing a tiny, frightened puppy. They were scaring the poor animal, and it was shivering with fear.
Ali bravely stepped forward to protect the puppy. "Stop! Please do not hurt him," he said firmly. "He is a living being. Just like us, he feels pain and fear. He cannot speak, but he can feel. We must always be kind to animals."
Hearing Ali's wise words, the children realized their mistake. They apologized and stepped back. Now, the shivering puppy was looking at Ali. How can Ali show the puppy that he is a friend?

A few nights later, the neighborhood was fast asleep. A sneaky thief crept into the dark street, trying to break into one of the houses. He moved very quietly, thinking no one could see him in the dark shadows.
But the street was not empty! The loyal puppy, now healthy and strong, spotted the thief. Remembering Ali's kindness, the dog stood guard. He barked fiercely and chased the thief down the street! The loud noise woke everyone up, and the neighbors easily caught the bad guy.
The neighbors were amazed. "This little dog protected our homes!" they cheered. The kids who had teased the puppy before looked at Ali in awe. "You were right, Ali," they smiled. "Animals are living beings too. Kindness always finds its way back to us." Ali just smiled and patted the loyal hero.
