Module 03 Fractions Unlocked

Jumping the Number Line

Every fraction is really a jump! Choose how many equal jumps make one whole, then hop from 0 to 1 to see how the numerator and denominator move together.

The Jump Drive

The Denominator (bottom) sets how many equal jumps it takes to reach one whole.
The Numerator (top) counts how many jumps you've made so far.

Your Equation
Tap an arrow to make your first jump...

Try this: Tap any mark on the line to jump straight there, or use the arrows to hop one step at a time. Turn on sound (top right) to hear each jump!

Quick Reference

Denominator

The bottom number. It's the total number of equal jumps needed to go from 0 to 1 whole.

Numerator

The top number. It's how many of those equal jumps you've actually taken so far.

A Whole

When the numerator and denominator match, you've landed exactly on 1 whole!
